I’m neither, but I have to get in at all costs. My brother made a big mistake, and now I have to fix it by stealing from the most powerful and cruel vampire to ever come to Bloodstone, Lucca Della Morte. If that wasn’t almost suicidal, I need to get it done before the spell concealing my human nature wears off.
But I forget that I’m only pretending to be a vampire. I’m still human and susceptible to Lucca’s dangerous allure. His darkness calls to my soul. His savagery makes my blood sing. I’m falling for the dark prince, craving him in a visceral way that’s frightening and exciting at the same time.
If he discovers my secret, he’ll destroy me. And yet, I can’t help wanting to get closer. I never thought I had a death wish until I met him.

MY REVIEW
Wow! This is EXACTLY what I was craving. A suspenseful, engrossing, paranormal story that I could sink my teeth into.
It is a story I did not want to end! And although the next book will not be with the same couple, I will be able to immerse myself into this world once more with a different couple that has been featured in this book. I cannot wait!
Vivienne has been taking care of her oldest sibling, Rikkon, for years. She’s has been getting him out of scrapes and dangerous situations since she can remember. So, it comes as no surprise that her brother has gotten himself into another scrape. What is surprising is that it is with the dangerous Dragon gang and what they want is a necklace from a vampire in exchange for Rikkon’s life.
She foils her first attempt and luckily gets away with her life but also a fascination and dangerous attraction to her mark, Lucca.
Getting help from a mysterious figure, she is able to cloak her humanity and join the vampire ranks at the Bloodstone Institute in hopes of getting close to Lucca once more and finally stealing the necklace. With vampires everywhere, Lucca on her scent, dangerous foes to be thwarted and an attraction to her mark that becomes more powerful as the days progress, this cannot end well for Vivienne. Or can it?
This is one heck of a page-turning read. On one hand, I was more than eager to know what happens next and on the other, I wanted to slow down and savor every moment. This is the type of paranormal romance that eclipses everything I was previously doing or should have been doing.
The dash of mystery and suspense was the cherry on top of this delicious proverbial cake.
The characters, including the secondary ones, all endeared themselves to me. I want to know more about them and devour their stories as I have this one.
I rooted for Vivienne and Lucca right from the beginning. Their attraction is as undeniable as the fact that it is forbidden.
Lucca is so much more than he seems. He is without a doubt a dark and powerful vampire prince but he also hides a softer side. His whole character is magnetic and I was reeled in by his character.
Vivienne, on the other hand, was shrouded in so much more mystery than Lucca. The road she has traveled and is still travelling is hard and dangerous. She is strong in her own right. She has a lot of fear being human in a paranormal world but she does not let that stop her. She faces her fears head-on and you can’t help but admire a girl that has gone through what Vivienne has and come out somewhat unscathed.
This book ends on a cliff-hanger, but it is not to continue Vivienne and Lucca’s story, although I’m sure we will revisit them. It is to continue the series with a new couple’s story and I just can’t wait.
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
