MY REVIEW
I’m on a high right now. A high that is so intense it can only lead to one helluva book hangover.
This book left me shook. I want to scream from rooftops! I want to scream full stop. Breakdown is dark, compelling and enthralling. Like a train wreck, you can’t help but continue reading even knowing that what you thought was bad is about to get even worse.
Depraved and immoral, this book consumed me. I lived it, breathed it, loved it and survived it. There should be a t-shirt made for having survived. It batters and plays on your emotions. It touches on so many taboo subjects: slavery, addiction, infidelity, greed and so much more! With that being said, it is not over the top. It’s just enough to keep you on the edge, jonesing and aching for more…. Always more.
This book is an experience and will take you down the rabbit hole. Gritty, raw, carnal and sexy, I’ve never been so happy to be kept in a book’s thrall. I was rooting for and engaged with all the characters. I need to know each character’s story and background. There’s just no going back for me now.
Atticus Creed. Can you say sex on a stick? Even his name gives me shivers. YUM! Sophie Drew. I never wanted to slap and hug a character all at once. She is complex and broken and it shows in everything she does.
Dark and depraved, there is only a glimmer of light for these characters and their psyches. Are they looking for redemption? Revenge? Love? I’d have to say all of the above! Do you think you can handle it?
I am definitely fan-girling right now and am desperate for more. Don’t get me started on Ezra and Imogen…. Right from the very beginning, their sexiness together, their back and forth, SH********T. I’m a goner.
